X RFS – The power of ten

A specially designed photo campaign commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Racibórz Medieval Festival. In this symbolic and cinematic series, each of the eleven portraits features real historical reenactors, not models – people who have co-created the festival’s legacy over the years. Every face bears a painted Roman numeral “X”, a powerful visual mark celebrating the jubilee edition.

Inspired by epic aesthetics and enhanced with subtle digital effects, the portraits were created using the “animated stills” technique – motion-enhanced images that bridge the gap between photography and film. Each portrait captures not only the look, but also the spirit of medieval warriors shaped by fire, steel, and time.

The X RFS campaign was designed to stand apart as a visual identity of the anniversary – intense, personal, and unforgettable.
